Resources BPD

Barbara as Loretta to share resources for BPD

Here are some of my favorite resources for BPD (many are free)

A comedy song

I wrote and perform a comedy song about what it’s like having BPD. It’s called The BPD Song and can be found on all the usual platforms: https://orcd.co/barbarafernandezthebpdsong

You can find more links to my musical comedy too.

An educational YouTube channel

Dr Daniel Fox on YouTube has excellent videos about all aspects of BPD. I’ve used his videos many times to help others understand the difference between BPD and narcisissm (they are not the same!). He covers everything you could possibly want to know about BPD. https://www.youtube.com/@DrDanielFox

Free practical tools online

The skills of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is how I learned to manage my BPD. DBT is statistically the most successful method. The wonderful London charity Body and Soul has created MindSET, a free series of resources for you to learn emotion regulation skills. (Note: the crazy blond lady in some of these videos is me. I cohosted a lot of these livestreams over lockdown, which enabled us to help people stuck at home.

All of the tools are delivered by an expert therapist): http://bodyandsoulcharity.org/mindset/

Body and Soul also offer other forms of free help and support to eligible young people and their families.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Here’s the practice I used, which I highly recommend. The founder trained under Marsha Linehan, the creator of DBT. They also offer vocational training in DBT:

Peer support groups (free) and other resources for people with BPD

Emotions Matter is a fantastic charity that offers information as well as both online and offline events, including peer support groups: https://emotionsmatterbpd.org/peer-support-groups-information

General information including helplines

Here’s a link that has lots of general information. There are helplines, how to find a therapist, understanding what BPD is, or finding a non-profit organization.
